Business planning and technical assistance to new and existing businesses
The WCEDC can help you put your business plan together or get you the help you need to put together a viable business plan together. We can steer you toward establishment of other services such as accounting and legal. We can find out what incentives are available from a variety of resources to help you start, expand, and maintain your business.
Referral to outside (Private, County, State and Federal) business resources
WCEDC provides referral to other outside agencies such as the University of Wisconsin - Superior Small Business Development Center, the local State Technical Colleges, the local chapter of the Service Corps of Retired Executives State Government including the Wisconsin Department of Commerce, Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development and other State Agencies that can provide direction and assistance Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions, Wisconsin Department of Revenue and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. State resources to assist you in contracting with the Government (State and Federal) such as the Business Procurement Assistance Center and the Wisconsin Procurement Institute
The Federal Government also provides business assistance through the U.S. Small Business Administration, the U.S. Department of Commerce, and the U.S. Department of Labor
Work with area lenders on innovative approaches to finance business
WCEDC works with area lender on innovative financing approached to business. We can introduce you to area lenders for additional business financial support
Assistance in finding industrial/commercial sites and facilities
The WCEDC works with area realtors and others to provide information on industrial and commercial sites, area Tax Incremental Districts, Industrial Parks, and commercial and industrial facilities.
Business training needs
The WCEDC provides coordination and collaboration in developing and implementing business training program or sessions in a variety of areas - often in collaboration with the local technical college, Wisconsin Workforce Development Department and the University of Wisconsin Extension System
