Confusion on the 2010 WCEDC Membership Requests
There has been some confusion that resulted on the most recent requests for annual memberships to the Washburn County Economic Development Corporation . Membership letters for the 2009 dues didn't begin to go out until after June of 2009. The reason being that the organization was without the services of an Executive Director until then.
One of the first items of business upon hiring for the position was to contact existing members and/or new prospective members to solicit their support and update dues for the 2009 fiscal year. The letters were sent out in July.
We again began our membership drive for 2010 sending out letters starting in early December of 2009. Membership for the WCEDC covers the period from janauary 1rst to December 31rst. For those of you that have paid for 2010, thank you. I know it probably seems as though you just got finsihed paying for your dues and you're being hit again.
From this point forward membership request letteres for 2011 will begin going out in September/october to the various political subdivsion in the county as theybegin planning their annual busgets and for businesses beginning in early December 2010.
REMEMBER IN ORDER TO CAST YOUR VOTE AT THE ANNUAL MEETING IN MAY YOU MUST BE A wcedc MEMBER IN GOOD STANDING.
