President Louie Villella called the meeting to order at 7:30 a.m. at the Washburn County Economic Development Office-located at 208 Vine Street-Spooner, WI 54801

 

Present: Louie Villella, Rob Paine, Jim Bethel, Rob Lester, Greg Krantz, Lloyd Wallace, Mike Bobin, Mark Krueger, and Chuck Jenkins.

 

 

Absent:  Morris Gillett

Others Present:  Margie Quinn, Steve Sather, and Dick Hartmann

 

Rob Paine made a motion to approve the agenda, Rob Lester 2^nd the motion.  M.C. by unanimous vote.

 

Approval of meeting Minutes for January 19th, 2010- Rob Lester made a motion to approve minutes from January 19, 2010.  Rob Paine 2^nd the motion.  M.C. by unanimous vote.

 

President Louie move item #8-Mike Bobin to fill remainder term for Pete Paine to represent the Minong Area.

Lloyd Wallace made a motion to have Mike Bobin fill the remainder of Pete Paine’s term to represent the Minong Area,  Rob Paine 2^nd the motion.  M.C. by unanimous vote.

 

Treasurer’s Report by Jim Bethel-Marge circulated P & L report, Balance sheet, and a check register to board members.  Jim Bethel read the monthly Treasurer’s report and reported on the monthly bills.  The total expense for February and March was $17,701.75 including wages for Marge and Dick, additional Insurance bill from RMAP grant. Dick Hartmann stated WCEDC will be reimbursed for the Ins. bill through RMAP adm. Fees.  Checking account balance is $33,522.86 and an additional $9348.64 in the CD account to be used for ½ marketing expenses, ½ for business plan development, and advertising. Total available funds are $42,871.50 Rob Lester made a motion to approve Treasurer Report, and pay bills as noted, Rob Paine 2^nd the motion.  M.C. by unanimous vote.

 

Director Report-

Directors Report was circulated to board members for review.  Dick discussed projects he is working on and the meetings he has attended for the past month. Discussions were made on articles to be placed in the Advocate, and WC Register to give the public the opportunity to know what is happening in WCEDC.  Dick will make a few minor changes to the article for the Advocate.

 

President Louie Villella stated he would like the Director Dick Hartmann to go visit Municipalities, Townships, and Businesses in Washburn County more often.   Lloyd Wallace suggested completing the project for students in each area to give perspectives on what would attract them to stay in the area for employment.  

 

Director’s Term to Serve on WCEDC Board.  Motion made by Jim Bethel to discuss and take action on Article 3, sentence 2 on Director’s terms at the Annual meeting in May, 2^nd by Rob Paine.  M.C. by unanimous vote.

Next Monthly Meeting:   Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at 730a.m. – Washburn County Economic Development Office located at 208 Vine Street, Spooner, WI 54801.  Annual Meeting in May 18^th in Birchwood.
