President Mike Bobin called the October monthly meeting to order 730am at the Washburn County Economic Development office located at 208 Vine Street, Spooner, WI.

 

Present: Mike Bobin, Jim Bethel, Bill Marx, Skip Fiedler, Rob Lester, Morris Gillett, Connie Lester, Ken Schultz, and Lloyd Wallace

 

Absent: Tom Klassa 

 

Others Present:  Margie Quinn

 

Concerned Citizens:  None

 

Approval of Agenda- Skip Fiedler made a motion to approve agenda, 2nd by Ken Schultz.  M.C. by unanimous vote.

 

Approval of Meeting Minutes Bill Marx made a motion to approve minutes for September 18th, 2nd by Rob Lester.  M.C. by unanimous vote.

 

Correspondence- President Mike Bobin stated there was no new correspondence.

 

Treasurer’s Report by Jim Bethel- Jim Bethel read the monthly Treasurer’s report. Jim B. reported on the monthly bills.  The total expense for September 19 – October 16, 2013 were $6147.17 to include Greg and Marge’s wages as well, leaving a checking account balance of $62,653.92 and an additional $9504.64 in the CD account to be used for ½ marketing expenses, ½ for business plan development, and 501 (c) (3) expenses to the IRS and Anderson Hager and Moe.   RMAP fund is in the amount of $7596.23.  Total available funds are $79754.79.   Marge Quinn has provided board members with a Treasurer Report, P&L monthly and a balance detail from QB.  Skip Fiedler made a motion to accept the Treasurer Report and pay all bills as noted, 2nd by Rob Lester.    M.C. by unanimous vote.

 

Skip Fiedler made a motion to table David Kron’s business Presentation.  Rob Lester 2nd the motion.  M.C. by unanimous vote.

 

Letter of Resignation from the Director:  Discussions were made by Board Members.  Skip Fiedler made a motion to send a letter to Mr. Krantz thanking Greg for services he provided to WCEDC.  WCEDC would provide him with a good recommendations, and he is to return all properties, keys to EDC office.  Also, stating WCEDC Board regretfully accept his letter of resignation.  Morris Gillett 2nd the motion.   M.C.   Bill Marx opposes.  President Bobin will draft a letter to Mr. Krantz today. 

 

Discussion on 2014 Budget-   President Bobin stated Marge and he attended the Budget hearing to represent WCEDC with the County Board.  Mr. Bobin stated the WCEDC Budget was tentatively approved by WC Board as presented.  

President Comments- President Bobin asked all Board Members to bring suggestions/ideas to the November meeting on their thoughts to move forward with a new Director Position.
